Can’t Find Motivation To Lose Weight? Motivate yourself!

Can't Find Motivation To Lose Weight
Weight loss is undoubtedly a hot topic, especially on the Internet. Everyone has an opinion about it. Deciding to lose weight is easy, but how to get motivated to lose weight may be a bit harder.

You can motivate yourself! You just need a little direction and some help.

What diet should you follow? How often should you exercise? What supplements will help you lose weight?

Your head is likely spinning out of control with all the information out there. Quite frankly, I don’t want to add to your misery. I have one solid piece of advice that will help you head in the right direction. Well, there are three, but they are all equally important.
1. P E R S E R V E
2. L E A R N
3. LISTEN TO YOUR HEART

I call this the PRL principle — mainly because if you have a catchy acronym, it’s easier to remember, and it helps you stay focused. The order of the PRL principle is very important. If you don’t persevere, you will never learn, and if you don’t learn, you won’t be able to find the things your heart is telling you to do to lose weight. It’s that simple.

The Key to Weight Loss Success

The key to losing weight is not about finding the proper diet, the right supplement, or the best exercise, although these may help. The key to successful weight loss is perseverance. Everything stems from your willingness to reach your weight loss goals with enthusiasm and determination — over a long period.

You want to see results when in perseverance mode. You don’t want to be sitting around in three months in the same condition you’re in now or worse, heavier than you are now.

Progress Not Perfection

Failure is okay. It’s part of life. The people who succeed see failure as something that’s welcome. They learn from it. If you’ve tried a diet and it didn’t work, maybe be it means you need to revaluate the diet or understand why you have difficulty staying on a diet. I could also because you’re on the wrong diet. Don’t be afraid to talk with your doctor about your diet and your weight.

Too many people throw vast quantities of money at popular fad diets. Then after they go off the diet, they gain the weight back, and sometimes even gain a few more pounds than they lost. If a diet won’t work for you for the long term, it’s probably not a good diet for you to be on. Learn from your experience and move on. Don’t give up.

“Many of Life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison

There are a lot of excellent Web sites that have practical and reasonable information about dieting. Healthline is a great place to start your research. They have proven information regarding nutrition and dieting, which professional nutritionists and dieticians controlled.

A lot of research in weight loss is based on clinical studies. Often, the funding for these studies comes from a company that is trying to promote a product.

The most important thing is to keep learning because learning will help keep you motivated.

There is no one perfect way to lose weight.

For many people, there is not just one single best way to lose weight. People do collective things to become successful, like getting emotional support and keeping a food diary. These things usually work for a lot of people. Overall, everyone is different. It’s just a matter of trying other things until you find what works best for you. Discovering these things is usually a matter of trial and error.

Follow your Heart

When you find a weight loss plan that works, you’ll know, and you’ll believe it’s a plan you can stay on for the rest of your life. It will probably include a food plan you can live with, an exercise plan, and other things like maybe keeping a journal or getting support.

Call it intuition or inspiration. When you follow and listen to your heart, you feel in tune and balance. Listen to that still inner voice within you. Many philosophers and inspirational people have spoken about that still inner voice that leads you to where you were meant to be.

Figure out why you want to lose weight. Your “why” will keep you going when times get tough, and it will help you figure out how to get motivated to lose weight in the first place.

Some examples of why could be you want to be more active with your kids, you want to fit into a certain size, you want to get back into your old clothes, or you want to feel better. Whatever your “why” is, write it down and put it somewhere you look every day, like your bathroom mirror.

Make it up close and personal:

? Get rid of all the junk food you have in your home. If it’s unhealthy, get rid of it or donate it if it’s unused. Motivate yourself by ridding your home of things that are keeping you from losing weight. On your next grocery store visit, don’t buy any more junk food. Keep your “why” in mind.

? Keep a weight loss journal. A journal to write out your thoughts, feelings, what you ate during the day, your activity level, and your weight will start you on your way to being motivated to lose weight. Commit writing in it every day to be even more motivated to eat right and exercise during the day.

? Get a weight loss buddy. Find someone who needs to lose weight too. Maybe a co-worker, friend, or neighbor wants to become healthy or drop some pounds—partner up with them to keep each other motivated. Once you get a buddy, that is motivation enough to start.

? Watch some motivational videos and read motivational weight loss blogs (like Healthywhizz.com!). Reading about someone else’s journey and being able to see others do it will motivate you. Don’t you ever feel inspired after watching a feel-good movie? Same idea. Watch a before and after video on youtube of a weight loss journey.

To Conclude

As you can see, how to get motivated to lose weight can be easy. You need to take the first step. Once you do that, you’ve started a journey, and you will finish it!
