Let’s talk about how to lose weight the right way. This question is not as simple as it seems. And anyone who has ever tried to lose weight honestly will attest to this. The weight seems to go away, but it is very difficult, almost impossible, to keep it off for a long time. That is true if you don’t know the most powerful weight cutting strategies.

From guide to guide, from book to book, from trainer to trainer, you hear the same outdated weight loss patterns and stereotypes: eat less, move more, work out, and push yourself to the limit.

And what next, overweight people should become fitness fans? That’s the problem – if they loved fitness, they wouldn’t be overweight.

On the other hand, I’m not going to assure anyone who wants to lose weight that they don’t have to work out physically and think with their heads. And thinking with your head is the first thing to do.

That’s what we’re going to talk about in this post.

The first thing to think about is what your success depends on when you’re going to lose weight and get rid of extra pounds.

Of course, the chart above does not reflect reality for everyone. Those who want to lose weight have a different ratio of these three components. And it depends on lifestyle and weight loss reasons.

The psychological component of weight loss in the chart (which I consider mandatory) did not arise by accident. Over the years, I have frequently encountered the same phenomenon.

A person desperately demands personal training. He is willing to pay big money, assures me that he will catch every word I say and do everything I say. What happens next – he works harder than anyone else during training under my supervision.

But as soon as this man leaves the gym, he completely forgets about everything. He eats all kinds of crap, forgets to drink water, and perform the necessary steps that would lead him to his goal in a few weeks. And he doesn’t care about energy, time, money (including my time and energy) he just spent. He acts like he wasn’t planning on losing weight at all!

In essence, this is sabotage. And most often unconsciously.

Why he does it is another question. And it’s not even about discipline. It is a matter of motivation and value orientations of the person as well as his life priorities. That’s why one of the most crucial parts of my work as a trainer is to learn about the client’s motivation.

The behavior described above is far from the only reason people can’t lose weight properly. There are a bunch of others (for example, one reason you can find in my post called Fitness Is Useless! How Not To Exercise). And they have almost nothing to do with the right foods or the quality of exercise.

Psychological Strategy

The PSYCHOLOGY component is vital for people who have gained weight due to constant stress and nervous breakdowns, who don’t know what they want in life and why they need to lose weight. There are many variations, as you can imagine.

How, having realized this a few years ago, can I agree with fitness gurus that weight loss is entirely a matter of nutrition (read diets, starvation) and training? It isn’t!

Nutrition Strategy

The NUTRITION component is essential for people with active lifestyles who have no particular psychological problems. They lack the right nutrition culture. For them, it is just enough to pay attention to what, how, how often, and when they eat. And the weight will start to come back to normal.

Training Strategy

The TRAINING component is valuable for people who have a sedentary lifestyle for many years. They have a lack of muscle mass and low tone. As soon as they pay attention to this fact, the situation will begin to change for the better.

You may ask me, “Where are the strategies? I don’t see any complete list of steps and tips.

That’s it! You have to think and decide for yourself what steps to include in your weight loss strategy. In one of my next posts, I will give some tips on this.

What In Conclusion?

The first thing to do when you decide to lose weight is to find out the source of the problem. To distinguish its causes, carefully analyzing the situation. That is what determines the strategy of the upcoming weight loss work.
